As mentioned in our recent post about the passing of Robert K. Martin, our journal, The Canadian Review of American Studies, published an interview with Robert, conducted by Bruce Tucker as part of a series commemorating the 25th anniversary of the journal. We thought it appropriate to post a copy of this interview now, as we reflect on Robert’s role in our association, and in the larger field of American Studies. Click the link at the bottom of this post to see the pdf of the interview.
We also want to note that we will be extending the deadline for this year’s Robert K. Martin book prize competition. We will post the details in a few days.
As before, we would be pleased to see any comments, of course (I should note that the comments have to be moderated because of problems we have with spam, so your comment may not appear immediately).
I remember Robert with enormous respect and great affection. He was a superb scholar, a dedicated colleague, and a lover of opera. What more could one ever ask.
I shall miss him, as I know so many people will.
Sherrill
Would it be okay to post the interview on UdeM’s alumni page? Thank you and take care.
I already replied in email, but reposting there is more than welcome. Thanks for asking!
